Summer Outreach Lunch Program

The Kawartha Lakes Food Source recognizes the gap in available food during the summer months, for children who benefit from in-school nutrition programs.

Free, healthy, bagged lunches for any elementary-aged child.

Each lunch consists of a sandwich or wrap, a fruit and vegetable, yogurt or cheese, and a baked treat. The program runs Wednesdays and Fridays each week in July and August. Children and families can simply drop by one of our locations between 11am and 1:30pm to receive a lunch.

We are looking for support from churches, businesses and individuals in the community.

Each bagged lunch costs approximately $2.31 to make.

Since the program began in 2018, we prepare and distribute an average of 1,051 lunches every summer. We need your help to continue to grow this program so we can feed the children in our community.
